Fellow F&C Specialists,

This is the first call for the February 13 - 14 Houston Region SCCA Queen of Hearts Double National at MSR Houston. Please reply to this e-mail message and let me know if I can count on you to join us.

Our corner worker meetings will begin each morning promptly at 7:15 AM. Gates open at 7:00 AM and you will need to sign in and register prior to our 7:15 AM meeting.

Come to MSR - Houston on 288 South, North of Angleton, TX for some SCCA racing fun! During 2009 and during our January Snow Bird race weekend we had fully staffed stations and enough volunteers to allow me to place individuals in new areas for experience and growth. If you are interested in learning to work grid, sound control, or race control, please let me know and I will make every attempt to rotate you into those positions. If you are interested in becoming a corner captain, please let me know and we can discuss the captain in training program that is active and running within our Southwest division. During our November race weekend, Mark Mayfield and Patrick Gillies both completed the captain in training program and are now Southwest Division corner captains! We have other members of our region who have recently applied for F&C license upgrades and we are awaiting the response. I will keep all of you informed as we have members of our region achieve F&C specialty milestones.

To make your trip to MSR - Houston even more enticing, the following items will be given to all F&C volunteer workers:

Each volunteer worker will be given a $75 gasoline card for each day worked. That could total $150 for anyone who works both Saturday and Sunday, and that will purchase a lot of gas!
Each volunteer worker will be given SRO points, one point for each day worked. As a reminder, these SRO points can be redeemed for valuable worker gear including rain suits, fire resistant coveralls, scanner radios, headsets, race entry fees, and other items.
Complimentary lunch will be provided each day.
There will be a Houston Region SCCA sponsored party on Saturday evening right after cold track at the end of the day. Come enjoy some food and liquid refreshments and enjoy the opportunity to swap exciting race stories with friends!
Our race chair has some new food and a new caterer lined up for us for our Queen of Hearts weekend. These personnel will be on site and they know our Houston Region.

If you can make it to this event, please reply and give me a quick RSVP so I can have an anticipated worker count. If you can only work one day, we will be happy to have you join us!
