Flaggers needed for SCCA @ Circuit of the Americas

Post by austin flagger » Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:16 pm

LoneStar committed to holding it's 3 day N/N the second weekend of March, the 8-10th, at the new Circuit of the Americas.

We're going to need a BUNCH of flaggers for this one (and the other specialties), so it's a great opportunity for those that didn't get to come down for F1 to work this track. Especially on the Friday, as we plan to run the full F1 course, so make Friday also if you can (please!!). This will give you an extra day to work a new station, and there are a bunch of great stations. We should also have a lot of new flaggers, so captains will have a chance to do some training.

Consider making hotel arrangements now, as the month of March is busy in Austin with SXSW activities soaking up a lot of the available rooms... and of course driving up the price. Check also in Bastrop, Lockhart, Kyle, Buda, and SanMarcos, those towns are all within about 25 miles of the track. Our race chair is working on blocking some rooms for volunteers, but haven't heard yet how many or how much. Verify that you can cancel the reservation, and then get something booked. If we have a better deal for you, or you can't make the event, then cancel it.

We also hope to have camping available, but haven't confirmed that yet (it is pretty likely I think). Will update when we know the specifics on rooms, registration opening, camping, etc... this is going to be FUN!!

Get the 2012 F1 game and start doing some laps!!

The event keeps growing... now confirmed to be part of the BFGoodrich SuperTour and a stop on the MidStates Conference of the US Majors tour. Should be some great car counts!

And the flagging should be sensational, as we'll be utilizing at least 20 marshalling posts, so plenty of great views to experience, good reason to flag all 3 days!

562 racer entries for the LoneStar 3 day N/N at COTA, in less than 5 hrs!! Looks like each of the 7 run groups are going to hit full track limit of 85 cars. Whoa. Be a part of it. Register online to work a specialty for this event on DLBracing.com. We are going to need a small army to make this event happen.
