F&C for GrandAm at COTA

Post by austin flagger » Sun Jan 20, 2013 3:40 am

LoneStar is helping coordinate F&C for the GrandAm event at the Circuit of the Americas. It is a 2 day event, just Friday and Saturday (no Sun), March 1-2. It's THREE great racing series packed into 2 days. Of course GrandAm, with the Daytona Prototypes and GT cars. Then Continental Tire Sports Car Series, with all the Camaros, Mustangs, 370Z, Aston Martin, and tons of others. To top it off, formula Pro Mazda (formerly Star Mazda) open wheel racing. Closed wheel fury and open wheel quickness, best of both worlds. The track is amazing, and it will take years to work all the different great corner stations available at this super road course.

Volunteers need to flag both days, and a brief email application is required to be considered for the event. Email lonestarflagchief-at-aol-dot-com with your SCCA member #, F&C license grade, and experience. You'll get a reply letting you know if you're accepted. We have a target number of positions to staff, and there are a LOT of flagging stations needed for COTA, even though it's only a 1/2 mile longer that TWS.

So, we likely will be including REGIONAL licensed marshals with some experience, so everyone go ahead and put in an application, we need the full force of the Texas flaggers.

Hope you can be part of the first Pro race of the season...
